This standard is based on the the X-wing standard where costume pieces match, forum discussions, and rewrite guidelines. All feedback and recommendations are welcome. Character Description
Blue Squadron was an air speeder and starfighter squadron that served as part of the Rebel Alliance's starfighter corps during the Galactic Civil War. The squadron most notably participated in battles such as the Battle of Scarif, Siege on Tureen VII, the Battle of Hoth and the Battle of Endor. The members were skilled pilots, and wore unique blue flight suits during the early stages of the war. (Source: Wookieepedia)

Required Details
• Petroleum blue one-piece flight suit/coveralls made with fabric that has a slight sheen (such as acetate or bomber silk) with sufficient weight to create a puffy look
• Contrasting top stitching in a beige-colored thread
• There is a horizontal seam or double-topstitched line on the front of the flight suit that runs across the upper chest
• There are two vertical seams or double-topstitched lines that run from the upper chest (horizonal seam) to belt seam on each side of the chest.
• There are two vertical seams or double-topstitched lines that run from the upper chest (horizonal seam) to waist seam centered on each side of the chest.
• Front zipper is hidden by a strip of the same material as the flight suit that is approximately 5 cm (2") wide
• Sleeves have knife pleats from the bottom of the collar to the wrist on the wearer's right arm and to the comm pad pocket on the left arm.
• Each pleat is approximately 12.5 mm (½″) wide
• Pleats are made of an off-white fabric of similar material to that of the suit, lighter than the gloves
• The pleating is inset with piping along the edges
• The strip of pleats is approximately 7.5 cm (3″) wide
• Mandarin-style collar with straight ends is approximately 10 cm (4") tall and slouched to be shorter in the front
• Collar closes at the front from wearer's left to right
• Collar is padded and has a horizontal grey/silver zipper along the sides and back to create the appearance of a hidden hood.
• Comm pad pocket is on the outside of wearer’s left forearm above the wrist, centered to the shoulder seam and placed approximately halfway between the wrist and elbow. Open window is large enough for most of comm pad to be visible, border approx. 2.5 cm (1") around all sides around window
• There are two chest pockets with curved openings that have a height starting at approximately center on the chest and extending to 5-7.5 cm (2-3") above the waist seam, and width from the horizonal wrapping around the sides of the torso, one on each side
• Flight suit has two upper thigh pockets with curved openings, one on each leg, positioned close to the outer side seam of pant leg. The pocket is approximately ¾ the width of the pant leg lying flat, with height extending from approximately the wearer's waist to the middle of the thigh
• The wearer's right front thigh has a cargo-style knee pad pocket with a rectangular frame at the top and a bottom flap with blue/dark grey webbing pull tab. Width is the same as width of upper thigh pockets, height is taller than width by approx. 2.5 cm (1").
• There is a charcoal/dark grey vertical, rectangular pocket on the wearer's left front thigh approximately 10 cm (4") tall and 6.5 cm (2.5") with a vertical grey/silver zipper
• There is a rectangular shaped pocket approximately 10 cm (4") tall with width covering 1/3 of the leg on the outside lower portion of each leg. The pocket has a with horizontal grey/silver zipper at the top.
• There is a charcoal/dark grey thin vertical rectangle approximately 6.5 cm (2.5") wide at the center of each leg that reaches down to the bottom of the pant leg with a vertical grey/silver zipper

Optional Details
Collar closes at the front with two snaps
• Top and bottom portions of the flight suit have a 2.5 cm (1") wide strip of material casing the same as the flight suit that wraps around the flight suit from approximately the center of each side in the front wrapping around the back
• There are two grommets on the front middle of the suit in line with the casing with pull strings through them at the waist
• Right front thigh cargo-style knee pad pocket has a side pen pocket

Flak Vest

Required Details
• Flak vest consists of a front and back panel made of off-white material (ballistic nylon or similar fabric) that is weathered
• Flak vest is proportional to the wearer
• Flak vest is contoured to fit over the chest and back
• Font and back panels are connected at the top by shoulder straps approximately 5 cm (2") wide that extend over the shoulders
• Shoulder straps are sewn in place to the inside of the flak vest panels
• Front and back panels connect at the middle of the front panel and bottom of the back panel sides with straps of approximately 2.5 cm (1") webbing similar in color to the vest using a strap adjuster style buckle that sits approximately 7.5 cm (3") below the armpit
• The excess strap lengths are either trimmed to length or tucked into the track to present a neat appearance.
• Front and back panels have a series of horizontal ribs created by inserting 6.5 mm (¼") tubing (or similar sized material) through fabric tubes prepared for the tubing.
• Ribs are separated from each other by a space that is the same width as a finished rib
• Ribs on the front and back panels stop approximately 2.5 cm (1") from each side
• Front Panel
- Top of the front panel sits 0-5 cm (0-2") below the collar
- Panel covers most of the torso
- Top half of the panel is fitted and contours over the chest
- Bottom half of the panel tapers at a diagonal on each side and has a horizontal flat bottom 15-23 cm (6-9")
- There are two equally spaced ribs at the top (near the collar)
- Immediately below the two top ribs, there is a flat wide area (“The Gap”) with approximately 8 horizontal rows of top stitching that are approximately 6.5 mm (¼") apart, for a total of approximately 5 cm (2") of flat area
- Immediately below "The Gap", there are 4-6 ribs that gradually get longer to curve around the arm
- Immediately below there are 4-6 ribs of the same length that extend to approximately 10 cm (3")
- There are 9-11 ribs total in the middle section under "The Gap"
- The remaining area has a flat wide area with 11-13 horizontal rows of top stitching that is approximately 6.5 mm (¼″) apart, for a total of approximately 12.5 cm (5”) of flat area
• Back Panel:
- Top of the back panel sits approximately even with the top of the front panel
- Back panel has approximately 13 equally spaced ribs at the top proportional to wearer
- Immediately below the 13-14 top ribs, there is a gap approximately 3 cm (1.25") with a track for webbing that is open in the center showing approximately 10 cm (4") of webbing.
- There are 2 ribs below the track
- Back panel has diagonal shaped corners where the bottom edge meets each side
- Back panel covers approximately half of the torso with flight suit visible between the belt and panels

Optional Details
• Back panel webbing has a silver strap adjuster style buckle

Note: All direction descriptions of the chest box are when looking at the box from from the front
• White rectangular box made of a hard, smooth material that is approximately 19 cm (7.5") tall, 20 cm (8") wide, and 2.5 cm (1") thick
• There is a raised rectangular section extending out of the top of the box that is approximately ¾ the length of the box
• The front top section of the box has a grey square on the left with two circular greeblies, an inset semicircle in the middle, and grey circle with plus sign on the right with a outlined details
• Below the top section there are inset line details, an inset grey rectangle, and a small red rectangle.
• On the right side of the lower section, there is a vertical grey box that extends from the top section to almost the bottom of the box that is approximately 1/3 the width of the box
• There are 2 circles in the grey box, one in the upper left corner and one in the lower right that is slightly larger than the top circle
• There is a inverted V-shaped cutout in the lower left side of the box with a channel between the main section of the chest box and an inset that contains a blue rectangle
• The inset has a silver grey connector section extending from the lower left side with 2 connectors for wires
• There are 2 black wires approximately 3 mm (⅛") thick extending from the lower left side of the connector section of the chest box to the rectangular box
• The top wire from the inset connector on the chest box is connected to the right side of the rectangular box and passes over the bottom wire that connects to the left side of the rectangular box
• Rectangular box is approximately 3 cm (1.25") tall, ¾ the width of the full chest box, and 2 cm (¾") thick
• Rectangular box has an inset circle in the upper left corner approximately 1 cm (.5") in diameter
• Rectangular box has a horizontal grey rectangle approximately ⅔ the width of the box
• Rectangular box has a silver grey connector section extending from the top right side of the box and has 2 connectors for the wires

• Gray, beige, or black gauntlet gloves in a heavy fabric, suede, or suede-like material
• The gauntlet has five to six lines of pleated stitching going horizontally around the gauntlet
• There are four wider pleats on the top of the hand with the first three pleats that are closest to the fingers being the same size but smaller than the lower pleat, which is wider

• The helmet bulges over each ear
• There are 2 ridges centered on either side of the top of the helmet that span the length of the helmet from front to back with raised areas on either side

• There is a cover that sits above the visor that extends the length of the front of the helmet and over each ear bulge

• This version of pilots are not seen with blasters or holsters so they are not part of the official standard. These items should not be submitted with your application and will require photos without these items for roster photo and to clearly view all costume parts. Local leadership may allow a DL-44 for local troops. Holsters are not authorized.
